It was a sell-out show. The Dapto Leagues Club provided the venue, special guests entertained the audience and the Tornadoes had the dance floor packed to the rafters. Wollongong had not seen a party like this in years. 500 people packed Dapto Leagues Club, south of Sydney, to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of the fabulous Tornadoes. Donnie Sutherland made a special guest appearance and Johnny Devlin performed as a special tribute to the band that has toured with him in Australia and New Zealand for the past 4 years. The show even had its own Elvis tribute show.

Original Tornadoe members David Goodger and Fred Marsh were joined on stage with brother Peter, the original Tornadoe drummer, and brother Brian who was with the band between 1973 and 1977. That first set, together with long serving bass player Harry Mitchell and current rhythm guitarist Wayne Rogers, brought the house down. The dance floor was full from the first song. A video of the Tornadoes from the early days through to present day was broadcast to the audience as well as a number of special tributes from a number of artists including Ray Columbus, Sharon O'Neill and the Four Kinsmen's Graham Wilson.

The 2nd set contained the current members of the Tornadoes and, again, the dance floor was chockers from the first through to the last song. A series of encores made it a late night. All in all, a truly amazing night with lots and lots of memories and great songs.. One that is sure to be remembered for a long, long time
