It was a sell-out show. The Dapto Leagues Club provided the venue, special guests entertained the audience and the Tornadoes had the dance floor packed to the rafters. Wollongong had not seen a party like this in years. 500 people packed Dapto Leagues Club, south of Sydney, to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of the fabulous Tornadoes. Donnie Sutherland made a special guest appearance and Johnny Devlin performed as a special tribute to the band that has toured with him in Australia and New Zealand for the past 4 years. The show even had its own Elvis tribute show.

The word is already out about the Tornadoes and Shane Cortese headlining the Canterbury A & P Show's entertainment on 11th and 12th November 2010. Shane and the Tornies have appeared previously on stage on the same evening but never together. November will be the first time that fans will see Shane working with this legendary band and he is said to be delighted to have been offerred the opportunity.
Shane has become a household name in NZ following roles on Shortland Street, Burying Brian, Outrageous Fortune, as the host of So You Think You Can Dance and for dancing his way into the hearts of New Zealand on the inaugural season of Dancing With the Stars. His career as a musician is also well known across New Zealand as singer / guitarist of the Class of '58 .
New Zealand's original King of Rock and Roll, Johnny Devlin and TV and music star, Shane Cortese will team up with the Tornadoes for a once only appearance at Christchurch's Hornby Workingman's Club on Saturday, 16th November 2010 for what already promises to be a sell-out show.
It will be the first time the stars have performed at Hornby and fans can be guaranteed a sensational night with great songs and the opportunity to dance the night away. Tickets are on sale at the Club at $20 so be early to ensure a table.
Friday 5th February will go down in southern New Zealand geographic history as the night a 5.7 magnitude tremor rumbled the region while, at the same time in the town of Mosgiel (south of Dunedin), the Tornadoes were rocking the town with NZ's original King of Rock and Roll, Johnny Devlin.
Christchurch's Avon City Rock and Roll Revival Club hosted Johnny and the Tornadoes in early February at the Cashmere Club.
The auditorium featured bright rock and roll decorations and memorabillia and the Tornadoes brought the crowd together as they started the show with the Duanne Eddy classic, Rebel Rouser.
Johnny Devlin was on fire with two spectacular sets, the dance floor packed and wanting more, more, more.
Special thanks to all who helped make the night a huge success.
